Mit FARAFINA 2026 – Re:Claim Y:Our Stories wird Hannover vom 27. August bis 5. September zum Ort für Schwarze Kunst, Kultur und Erinnerung. Das Festival des Afrikanischen Dachverbands Norddeutschland e. V. (ADV-Nord) lädt zu Konzerten, Lesungen, Filmen, Ausstellungen, Workshops und Gesprächen ein und schafft Räume für Begegnung, Empowerment und gesellschaftlichen Dialog.
Unter dem diesjährigen Schwerpunkt dekoloniale Erinnerungskultur rückt FARAFINA Schwarze Geschichten und Perspektiven in den Mittelpunkt. Gemeinsam mit Partner*innen entsteht ein öffentliches Archivprojekt, das Erinnerungen, Fotografien, Dokumente und Oral Histories aus Schwarzen Communities sammelt und sichtbar macht. Ergänzt wird das Programm durch internationale künstlerische Kooperationen, unter anderem mit Kap Verde.
FARAFINA versteht sich als offenes Festival für die gesamte Stadtgesellschaft – ein Ort des Austauschs, der kulturellen Vielfalt und neuer Perspektiven. Das Kulturzentrum Pavillon ist einer der zentralen Veranstaltungsorte dieses besonderen Festivals.

With FARAFINA 2026 – Re:Claim Y:Our Stories, Hanover becomes a vibrant space for Black arts, culture, and remembrance from 27 August to 5 September 2026. Organized by "Afrikanischer Dachverband Norddeutschland e. V." (ADV-Nord), the festival presents a diverse programme of concerts, readings, film screenings, exhibitions, workshops, and discussions, creating spaces for encounter, empowerment, and social dialogue.
This year's focus is on decolonial memory culture, highlighting Black histories and perspectives. In collaboration with partner organisations, FARAFINA is developing a public archive project that collects and preserves memories, photographs, documents, and oral histories from Black communities, making them accessible to a wider audience. The programme is further enriched by international artistic collaborations, including an exchange with Cabo Verde.
FARAFINA is an open festival for the entire community—a place to experience cultural diversity, share knowledge, and discover new perspectives. Kulturzentrum Pavillon is proud to be one of the festival's central venues.
