On the occasion of its fifth anniversary, a dance school in Heidelberg presents its annual show this year. The school is conceived as a women-only safe space, bringing together participants of different ages and nationalities to learn and practice various dance styles in a supportive environment.
The artistic focus lies on Oriental dance (commonly known as belly dance) and Salsa Lady Style. As part of the event, these styles are presented through a range of choreographies created by the main choreographer and founder of the school, Joann Ordonez, as well as international collaborators, reflecting different levels of technical and artistic development.
More than 40 students will be on stage throughout the evening. The performances range from first stage experiences at beginner level to more advanced group pieces and solos, characterized by refined technique and expressive quality.
The show offers insight into the ongoing work of the school, highlighting both the individual development of the participants and the diversity of styles and backgrounds within the group.
